This is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm whether anyone is in custody or has been released. We also cannot release a person, post bond, pull an official booking record, or obtain a mugshot from an agency. Contact the government office responsible for the record or custody question.

The research did not establish public walk-in hours for BCSO's records office, so call before traveling. The official BCSO public-records page accepts requests by hand, mail, or email and identifies Michael C. Arnold as Records Access Officer. Match the question to the office below:
- Booking image or arrest record: Start with the county search and records-request path. Ask the arresting police department about its record, and ask BCSO separately if county intake occurred.
- Current county custody or release: Call the BCSO inmate-information extension. There is no verified public name-by-name county roster, and the site cannot check the sheriff's internal records.
- Recent New Bedford, Fall River, or Taunton arrest: Use the correct city police source. New Bedford publishes dated Arrests PDFs, Fall River uses its Records Unit and public-record portal, and Taunton provides public logs plus a records route.
- Warrant or post-release question: Use Wanted Fugitives for official warrant-check routes. A wanted notice, warrant, supervision record, and current jail entry are not interchangeable.
- Court status or final result: Search MassCourts or contact the correct District or Superior Court clerk. Courts in New Bedford, Fall River, and Taunton hold different case records.
- Facility information: BCSO operates the Bristol County House of Corrections and Jail and Women's Center in Dartmouth, plus Ash Street Jail and Regional Lock-Up in New Bedford. Call BCSO because placement may change. This project has no separate facility pages.
- State correctional custody: Use the Massachusetts Department of Correction locator for a person housed in a state prison. DOC is not the source for a current Bristol County jail booking.
- Federal sentenced prisoner: Use the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator. A federal pretrial defendant may instead be held through the U.S. Marshals system and may not appear there.
- Immigration custody: Use the official ICE Online Detainee Locator or the ICE hotline at 1-888-351-4024. BCSO's former ICE contract ended in 2021, and its records office says it does not provide information specifically identifying an ICE detainee.
